i went to a concert! :)

yeap, on sunday night my sister, her husband, and myself went down to the house of blues on the sunset strip in west hollywood. we had dinner at the saddleback steak house before walking a short block to reach the concert. the band "paul and storm" opened the concert followed by "jonathan coulton". i am a big fan of jonathan coulton and had never heard of paul and storm before, nor did i know they were playing until we walked in the door and we were pleasently surprised to discover that we are also paul and storm fans. both are comedy folk style bands, coulton sings mostly of monkeys, cyborgs, mad scientists and zombies while paul and storm tend to sing about more down to earth things like chicken nuggets, pirates, and fighting nuns. sadly, the house of blues has a no cameras policy so i have no pictures to show you :( we did get great seats, right up front in the 'wings' which put us close to stage, i was very happy, but this also means that we were close to security at the bar so i didn't want to risk having my camera phone taken away.

in other news, it is now almost two months since my surgery and i have to experience any complications or return of symptoms. (yeah!) 'course, i also have to do any heavy lifting, or average lifting for that matter. i do get bravery with the lifting as the days go by which sometimes results in sore abdominal muscles which i hope is just normal sore muscles and not a sign of bad things to come (knock on wood). diet wise, i can eat anything i want, as long as it includes calcium (perferably in the form of liquid milk) and fiber, though the fiber is really just a suggestion, not a law. while i no longer have a forbidden foods list i am still too scared to have oranges or carbonated beverages.
