i have received a large amount of study/prep material for my upcoming fluoroscopy state test. i have also discovered that there is a scanner at work that will turn piles of papers into pdfs in no time at all. i have also found a way to make most of these searchable, including the state fluoro syllabus. also included are some powerpoints from my school days.

wildstorm (a sub division of dc comics) is coming out with an ongoing series based on the fan favorite game, starcraft. from what i have read, a new group of fighters, the war pigs, are introduced into the starcraft universe, and apparently their mission is to assasinate the hero of the original game series, jim raynor.

wildstorm has successfully brought other video games to comic book form including mirror's edge, gears of war, resident evil, resistance, world of warcraft, etc.

denon has a digital audio cable on amazon for the amazing price of $500.00 it amazes me that anyone would buy a cable for that price, yet somehow, as of this writting, they only have two left in stock with more coming on reoder. if you feel so inclined, you could purchase a used one for as low as $2,499.98 or a refurbished one for only $999.99. but the comedy only starts there. be sure to read the buyer comments where the cable holds global warming at bay, creates miniture black holes, causes music to play backwards, and can regrow limbs.

ever find yourself fruitlessly trying to explain just how big a gigabyte or even a terabyte is? its not exactly an easy thing to express, especially if you are trying to explain it to someone who does not know a lot about computers to begin with. well, there is a solution. i have found a unit conversion page that turns units of computer memory into more conventional units. for example, a gigabyte is equal to twenty eight Bibles, and one digital photo equals two short novels.

ct/cat scans are a highly useful addition to a hospital medical arsenal. sadly, this technology is not without risk. the iodine based contrast that is often used in these studies can put a strain on the kidneys of the patient. the contrast is administered through an iv into the blood stream and is necessary for the arteries to be visible in the scan. for the average patient the strain is minimal and easily overcome without any medical assistance. for high risk patients, however, there is a risk of kidney damage from the contrast. at risk patients include, but are not limited to, the elderly, diabetic, and heart disease patients.

bandai is building an 18 meter (60 feet) tall mecha replica as part of gundam's 30th anniversary celebration. to give you an idea of how tall this thing is, in the model they show a person next to the statue and the person comes up to the ankle. the statue of liberty is 46 meters (151 feet) so its not quite that big, but it still huge! it will be equipped with lights and fog makers to add to the effects. it is the rx-78-2 gundam from the popular series and will be on display in july in a park in odaiba, tokyo. its being made in segments so it can be deconstructed, moved, and reconstructed across the nation of japan.
