this is a must listen to! its a song by the group moosebutter which puts together lines from the classic star wars movies to make songs from the other popular movies orchestrated by john williams.
basically, thanks to the power of the modern internet browsers a website is able to have layers. these layers can be set to different levels of visibility and accessability. so what happens is they will hide one page below a different page and by lining up the click buttons they can trick you into giving up your myspace page, your email account, your bank login, etc. this clearly needs to stopped, so how do you protect yourself against it? there are two ways this can be prevented, server side and client side solutions. server side solutions tend to be a code that blocks the site from being used in frames, but this is only a partial solution since there are ways of doing clickjacking without using frames.
you probably think i'm kidding, but its true. there is a force training toy due out in fall 2009 that has you move a ball with your mind. you put this thing on your head that measures brain wave activity and sends the information to the base of the toy and the amount of concentration that it senses it will increase the fan speed that lifts the ball in the cylinder. these kinds of sensors have been used on computers (i have moved a mouse with my mind) for years, largely in the medical community, and now we finally see it moving into the marketplace. they are estimating the price to be around $100. what i want to know is where do i pre-order?
before i begin my computer rant, i just want to mention that i have posted new photos on my flickr page at this link. we have the first years (newbies, padawans, etc) at clinic now. its kind of nice to not be the new guy anymore, and thy are nice people too :)
anyway, on to the computer rant:
watching wipeout after the superbowl reminded me of my favorite contestant, ariel tweto. i just had to share this video, its hilarious.
yeap, it happening. people are cloning their pets. this reminds me of the arnold schwarzenegger movie 'the 6th day' were the pet cloning company re-pet would clone your pet in the nearest mall. at $155,000 that is one expensive dog. i like how they point out that dogs aren't a step closer to cloning humans since it is harder to clone a dog.
one of my classmates pointed out a new flash memory drive that holds 64 gigs. sadly its a little out of my price range at $144.99 at newegg.com. so i start wondering just how high do these drives go now? i think this is the highest volume for sale right now, but there is both a one terabyte and a fifty terabyte drive in development. the one terabyte uses a new technology called programmable metallization cell (pmc). current flash drives store information as an electronic charge and they are quickly approaching the physical limitations of that method. the pmc system uses copper nanowires the size of a virus.
maybe i'm too predictable in my gaming choosing, but come on its not just ninjas, its ninjas versus monsters in tokyo. and its not ninja gaiden so it much actually be playable by us mere mortals. a virus is spreading throughout tokyo turning your average human into a rampaging monster of mass carnage (a cross over virus from godzilla and his crew?). how do you stop it?
its a new game from the playstation network called "the last guy" where you a zombie rescueing survivors of a zombie apocalypse in cities all around the world. its ten bucks for the ps3 and its addicting fun. how can you say no to zombies?
little big planet is set to get some new levels and exciting new items with an offical download of metal gear solid 4 content. gatta love the paintinator. content is scheduled for the week of christmas and you can bet i'll be grabbing it right away.
