general news

general stuff about the site or what is going on in my actual life which i decide to broadcast here for whatever vain reason.

an update, of sorts

sorry for my long absence, it is amazing how fast a few days can become a few months. it would seem that an update of sorts is in order.

in late september i was hired by the hospital in which i trained as an x-ray tech and, shortly after, i began interning there as well for my cat scan program. with the two combined i have been working more than fifty hours a week. while this certainly keeps the boredom at bay it leaves little time for anything else. come march i will have completed the program and will be more than ready to work a normal forty hour week in both x-ray and cat scan.

my computer is alive! and other news

before i begin my computer rant, i just want to mention that i have posted new photos on my flickr page at this link. we have the first years (newbies, padawans, etc) at clinic now. its kind of nice to not be the new guy anymore, and thy are nice people too :)

anyway, on to the computer rant:

obama on the fifth of november

barack obama has won the presidency. congratulations obama, i did not vote for you. yes, it is a historic election. a black man has made it to the highest office in the land, arguably the highest office in the world, and he did it without the aid of affirmative action. (perhaps now the african americans can give up their fear of open competition and compete for jobs/opportunities on an even playing field, qualifications alone, but i digress). i don't usually delve into politics as i find it too depressing but the presidential election is a hard one to miss. without running off on a tangent, let me just remind everyone the significance of this day, november 5th.

i went to comic-con 2008!

i have improved my geek cred by making my first annual pilgrimage to the mecca of geekdom, the san diego comic-con 2008!!

playing with instant messengers

summer semester setup (no classes, just clinical) has left me with some free time in the afternoon/evening. while i should say that all my time is spent studying, i seem to spend more time messing around in other places than my books. speaking of which, i am trying out a few instant messengers again. last time i had these installed they kept interrupting my gaming in the most dangerouse of times and i would ban the spammer to come back and find my avatar dead from neglect. this new program i picked up, digsby, promises to not announce messages while a full screen application is in use. it also links into all the im programs including twitter, myspace, facebook, and my email accounts.

hell wyrm over break and other ramblings

i did a decent job on my finals and now i get a week off from school and clinic. my goal for this break?

i went to a concert! :)

yeap, on sunday night my sister, her husband, and myself went down to the house of blues on the sunset strip in west hollywood. we had dinner at the saddleback steak house before walking a short block to reach the concert. the band "paul and storm" opened the concert followed by "jonathan coulton".

i'm back!!!!

after two weeks in the hospital i am finally back home!!

all around update

i am returning to school on monday (tomorrow) and welcome the chance to be back around friends. don't get me wrong the holidays were great, the best holidays i've had in a long time.

i'm back!!

yeap, i have returned. the site is back and, Lord willing, it's ganna stay that way. about two months ago now it went down, the company i had it hosted on had a spasm and off it goes. if that had been the only problem i would still be their customer. it took a month for them to say, "that domain is not linked to any account, make a new account and claim it." took another month to get them to release the domain name so i could move over to godaddy.com. do yourself a favor, DON'T USE VIZAWEB!!!!
