lifesize mecha in japan

bandai is building an 18 meter (60 feet) tall mecha replica as part of gundam's 30th anniversary celebration. to give you an idea of how tall this thing is, in the model they show a person next to the statue and the person comes up to the ankle. the statue of liberty is 46 meters (151 feet) so its not quite that big, but it still huge! it will be equipped with lights and fog makers to add to the effects. it is the rx-78-2 gundam from the popular series and will be on display in july in a park in odaiba, tokyo. its being made in segments so it can be deconstructed, moved, and reconstructed across the nation of japan.

soon you too can use the force

you probably think i'm kidding, but its true. there is a force training toy due out in fall 2009 that has you move a ball with your mind. you put this thing on your head that measures brain wave activity and sends the information to the base of the toy and the amount of concentration that it senses it will increase the fan speed that lifts the ball in the cylinder. these kinds of sensors have been used on computers (i have moved a mouse with my mind) for years, largely in the medical community, and now we finally see it moving into the marketplace. they are estimating the price to be around $100. what i want to know is where do i pre-order?

yeap, a buffy reunion event will be held down in hollywood during "paley fest". personally i think they could have come up with a better name for their fest, but maybe that's just me. anyway, it takes place at the arclight in hollywood, no word yet as to what cast and creators will be there, or what the event will actually take place. the buffy event is on march 20, 2008 while the chuck celebration is on march 18, 2008. the offical lineup will be announced on febuary 4, 2008 so i'm hoping to find out what time it happens then.

buffy musical cancelled :(

one of the most popular and enjoyable episodes from the cult hit buffy the vampire slayer has been playing in select theaters around the country since 2004. the episode, "once more with feeling" involves a tap-dancing demon who curses sunnydale into dancing and singing their deepest, darkest secrets until they dramatically combust. sounds cool, right?
