bandai is building an 18 meter (60 feet) tall mecha replica as part of gundam's 30th anniversary celebration. to give you an idea of how tall this thing is, in the model they show a person next to the statue and the person comes up to the ankle. the statue of liberty is 46 meters (151 feet) so its not quite that big, but it still huge! it will be equipped with lights and fog makers to add to the effects. it is the rx-78-2 gundam from the popular series and will be on display in july in a park in odaiba, tokyo. its being made in segments so it can be deconstructed, moved, and reconstructed across the nation of japan.

yeap, it's real and it's legal. there are several anti-rifle laws out there, but this rifle is not baned by anyone. it turns out that the law defines a rifle with specific parts like a collapsable stock, a bayonett slot, a 30 round clip, and dark colors.

this clip is the opening song to the anime simoun: girls in airships. if you paid attention to the clip you might have seen a grand total of two males in the clip. this anime presents a unique take on puberty, everyone is born female.

i used to think that japan was the weirdest nation around. now i'm not so sure, maybe its just all of asia. yes, there really is a restaurant in taipei, china with a bathroom theme. i'm assuming this stuff just looks like it needs to be flushed away... i don't know about you, but i actually want to eat there. how about you?
